Antes de la final de Miss Universo 2024, se anunció una corona llamada “Butterfly”, inspirada en la mariposa monarca y vinculada con México. Pero esa no es la corona que la marca Jewelmer identifica como la que llevó la ganadora: la pieza final se llama Lumière de l’Infini. Las fuentes disponibles no explican si el anuncio inicial fue reemplazado, corregido o modificado.
Qué se anunció antes del certamen
El 13 de noviembre de 2024, Telemundo informó que la corona prevista para Miss Universo se llamaba “Butterfly” y estaba inspirada en la mariposa monarca, una especie asociada con México. El artículo citó a Sheynnis Palacios describiéndola como un tributo a la mujer y a México, hogar de esa mariposa.
En ese momento, según Telemundo, no se habían divulgado el diseñador ni el valor de la corona anunciada. Telemundo: “Butterfly, la nueva corona inspirada en México para Miss Universo 2024”.
Qué corona llevó la ganadora
Jewelmer identifica la corona que llevó Victoria Kjær Theilvig, de Dinamarca, como Lumière de l’Infini. Theilvig fue coronada Miss Universe 2024 en la final del 16 de noviembre, celebrada en la Arena CDMX. La identidad de la ganadora consta también en el registro oficial del certamen: Miss Universe: The Legacy.

Por tanto, conviene distinguir entre la corona “Butterfly” descrita en el anuncio previo y la Lumière de l’Infini que Jewelmer atribuye a la ganadora. Las fuentes disponibles documentan ambos nombres, pero no establecen qué ocurrió entre el anuncio y la presentación final ni por qué difieren.
El diseño y su simbolismo, según Jewelmer
Jewelmer describe Lumière de l’Infini como la primera corona elaborada en Filipinas para Miss Universe, y atribuye su creación a su comunidad de cultivadores de perlas y artesanos filipinos. La explicación del simbolismo es la de la propia marca:

El calendario oficial sitúa la presentación de la corona el 12 de noviembre; las rondas preliminares, el 14 de noviembre; y la final de la 73.ª edición, celebrada en México, el 16 de noviembre de 2024.
