That confirms an active creative effort, but not a finished or fully specified feature film. No release date, cast, distributor, final format, or confirmed directing credit is established in the available reporting.
What “in production” means here
The phrase comes from an announcement reported in May 2025. Its wording described an “early creative take” on the franchise and said the work brought Bay’s visual intensity to the property. Invisible Narratives was described as producing, developing, and financing the project. The announcement did not say whether the work was a feature film, a television series, or another format. Variety’s May 2025 report covered the announcement.
That is more specific than a rumor or a bare expression of interest, but it is not enough to conclude that a release-ready feature is underway. In film and television, early creative development can precede decisions about format, script, cast, distribution, and release.
How the project got to this point
July 2024: early film and television discussions
In July 2024, reporting described discussions about expanding Skibidi Toilet into film and television. Invisible Narratives CEO Adam Goodman characterized those conversations as early-stage. He told Variety: “We are absolutely in talks right now, both on the television side and the earliest conversations right now on the film side.” That statement describes the discussions at the time; it is not a confirmation of the project’s later format or current production status. Variety’s July 24, 2024 coverage reported his comments. The Washington Post also covered the plans that month.

May 2025: an announced creative production effort
The later announcement marked a step beyond those initial discussions: Invisible Narratives said work had been underway on an early creative take involving Bay. It did not identify a finalized film or television format, nor did it announce a release schedule. The company describes film, television, and licensing among its general business activities, but that broad description does not add project-specific confirmation. Invisible Narratives’ website provides company information, not a confirmed release date or format for this project.
Is Michael Bay directing the movie?
The available reporting establishes Bay’s involvement in an early creative effort; it does not confirm that he is directing a final feature. Until a project-specific announcement names a director and specifies the production, “Michael Bay is involved” is more accurate than “Michael Bay is directing.”

What has not been confirmed
The available sources do not establish:
- whether the project will be a feature film, television series, or another format;
- a release date, cast, or distributor;
- a final directing credit for Bay; or
- project-specific official merchandise.
Invisible Narratives lists licensing and consumer products among its general activities, but that is not evidence that Skibidi Toilet products have been announced. The company’s general information should not be mistaken for a product announcement.

Look for a project-specific announcement that names the format, key creative team, and distribution plans. Those details would distinguish an early creative effort from a formally specified production. Until then, the careful answer is that a Skibidi Toilet screen project has been discussed and an early creative production effort involving Bay was announced—not that a dated, fully confirmed movie is ready to shoot or release.
