After Ye and Bianca Censori appeared on the 2025 Grammy Awards red carpet on February 2, Meghan McCain criticized Ye in a post on X, saying Censori “looks like a victim and a hostage.” That was McCain’s characterization, not an established account of Censori’s safety or consent. The post was later deleted; a representative reportedly said its removal was accidental.
What Meghan McCain wrote
According to The Independent’s February 3, 2025 report, McCain posted on X on February 2, the day of the Grammys appearance. The outlet quoted her as writing: “I just want and have wanted for years – for Kanye West to leave us all the hell alone.”
She then wrote: “He’s a repugnant, vile piece of garbage, and his wife looks like a victim and a hostage.” The words about Censori were McCain’s opinion. They do not establish that Censori was being held, coerced, or otherwise in danger.
Why the post disappeared
The post was reported as deleted. The Independent said McCain’s representative told Entertainment Weekly that “She says it [the removal] was an accident and she thinks he’s a vile pig.” Us Weekly’s February 3 report also relayed the representative’s explanation that the post’s removal was accidental.
