Anne Hathaway and her husband, Adam Shulman, have two sons: Jonathan and Jack. Vogue’s July 2025 profile described Jonathan as nine and Jack as five; N+ later reported their birth years as 2016 and 2019, respectively. Hathaway has said she keeps her children out of the spotlight so they can shape their own lives.
Who are Jonathan and Jack?
Jonathan and Jack are the sons of actor Anne Hathaway and producer and jewelry designer Adam Shulman. Vogue identified Jonathan as nine and Jack as five in its profile published July 7, 2025. Those are ages at the time of publication, not current ages. N+, a Mexican news outlet, reports that Jonathan was born in 2016 and Jack in 2019.

Hathaway and Shulman have shared only limited details about the boys publicly. In Vogue’s profile, Hathaway described everyday family activities including playing games, baking, and teaching the children to dribble a basketball in their apartment. These glimpses do not establish broader details about the children’s private lives.
Why does Anne Hathaway keep her sons out of the spotlight?
Hathaway has said that protecting her children’s privacy is a family decision. In a 2023 report on her PORTER interview, The Independent quoted her explanation: “My family has needs, and one of the needs of children is that they need to be able to define their own lives.”
