McDonald’s announced its Special Grade Garlic Sauce on July 2, 2024, as a limited-time U.S. promotion with the anime JUJUTSU KAISEN. The company said it would be available starting July 9, exclusively through the McDonald’s app and while supplies lasted. That was a past launch announcement, not confirmation that the sauce is available today.
What was McDonald’s Special Grade Garlic Sauce?
It was a limited-time dipping sauce promoted in a 2024 McDonald’s and JUJUTSU KAISEN collaboration. McDonald’s said the sauce was inspired by its Black Garlic Sauce from Japan. The company described its flavor as having notes of garlic and soy sauce, balanced with slight tangy sweetness. That is McDonald’s description, not an independent taste review.
The July 2 announcement does not establish that the U.S. sauce used the same recipe as the Japanese product. It also does not provide a full ingredient list, allergen information, or nutrition facts.
When did it come out, and how could customers get it?
McDonald’s announced the promotion on July 2, 2024, and scheduled the sauce to become available on July 9. The release said it would be offered in the United States for a limited time, exclusively through the McDonald’s app and while supplies lasted.

At launch, McDonald’s said customers could get the sauce free with an order of Chicken McNuggets or add it to another order in the app. The announcement also described a 30-day Crunchyroll trial tied to a sauce purchase, subject to terms. These were details of the 2024 promotion, not current offers.

The character lids gave the promotion a collectible angle, but McDonald’s announcement does not say that lids were sold separately or that the packaging remains available.

McDonald’s described the sauce as a limited-time offer and said supplies were limited. Its July 2024 announcement does not establish whether the sauce has returned, is still available at any restaurant, or can be purchased through another channel. Check McDonald’s current app or ask a local restaurant for present-day availability rather than relying on the old promotion details.
