Madeline Gaudreau was reported to be expecting her and Matthew Gaudreau’s first child in August 2024. Their son, Tripp Matthew, was born in December 2024.
What happened to Matthew Gaudreau’s baby?
Matthew and Madeline Gaudreau’s son was born in December 2024 and named Tripp Matthew. CBS Philadelphia reported that Madeline announced his birth in a social media post shared on December 29; the outlet published its report the following day. The Associated Press also confirmed the December birth in a 2025 feature.
In its account of the announcement, CBS Philadelphia quoted Madeline’s words: “Mommy & Daddy’s world.”
When was Madeline Gaudreau reported pregnant?
Reports in August 2024 said Madeline was pregnant with the couple’s first child and that they planned to name their son Tripp. These were reports from that time, not an indication that she is currently expecting. E! News reported the pregnancy on August 31, and ABC News later identified Madeline as pregnant with her first child in coverage of a memorial service.

What happened to Matthew and Johnny Gaudreau?
Matthew and his brother John, known as Johnny, died on August 29, 2024, after they were struck while riding bicycles in New Jersey. The brothers had separate families: Tripp was Matthew and Madeline’s child, not one of Johnny’s children.
