Meghan Markle asked Netflix to postpone With Love, Meghan as Los Angeles wildfires continued to devastate communities. Netflix supported the request and moved the series’ premiere from January 15 to March 4, 2025. Meghan said the change would let the partners focus on people affected by the fires in California, her home state.
Why was With Love, Meghan delayed?
Netflix said the postponement was requested by Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and made with the company’s full support because of “the ongoing devastation caused by the Los Angeles wildfires.” Meghan said: “I’m thankful to my partners at Netflix for supporting me in delaying the launch, as we focus on the needs of those impacted by the wildfires in my home state of California.” Netflix’s announcement and retrospective give the stated reason for the schedule change.
The public explanation concerns the needs of people affected by the fires. It does not say that the series’ production was disrupted or that filming took place in an affected fire zone. Netflix identifies Montecito, California, as the filming location.
When did the series premiere?
The premiere was originally scheduled for January 15, 2025. Netflix moved it to March 4, 2025. The Associated Press reported the original date on January 13, 2025; Netflix’s retrospective confirms the new date.
