They are her children with choreographer Benjamin Millepied, whom she divorced in 2024. The title’s reference to two children now needs a current-day qualification: Portman had a third child with partner Tanguy Destable in August 2026, according to El País.
Who are Natalie Portman’s older children?
Aleph
Aleph is Portman and Benjamin Millepied’s son. El País reported his birth date as June 14, 2011. El País’s September 2026 account is the source for that precise date.
Amalia
Amalia is their daughter. El País reported that she was born on February 22, 2017, nearly six years after her older brother.
How the family has changed
Portman and Millepied’s marriage ended in divorce in 2024, according to the Associated Press and ABC News. In April 2026, the Associated Press reported that Portman was expecting a child with her partner, Tanguy Destable, and described Aleph and Amalia as her two older children.

In an April 2025 conversation with Jenna Ortega for Interview Magazine, Portman said, “My kids are always a source of excitement, because you just see them develop into the individuals they are.” ABC News / Good Morning America reproduced the remark in its coverage of her comments.

Portman has also explained why she keeps a boundary between her children and public-facing work. “I’m not a particularly private person in real life — I’ll tell you anything — but in public, it was so clear early on that if you tell people how private you are, your privacy gets respected a lot more,” she said. She added, “I set up a little bit of a barrier to be like, ‘I’m not going to do photo shoots with my kids.’” Those comments, also reproduced by ABC/GMA, help explain why public information about the children is limited.
