Marvel Rivals Season 2, titled Hellfire Gala, began April 11, 2025, with Emma Frost as its first new hero. Ultron arrived in the second half with the May 30 Season 2.5 update. The season’s playful “Emma Frost’s thighs” hook aside, the concrete story was a two-part update that added two heroes and two maps.
When did Emma Frost and Ultron arrive?
NetEase Games announced on April 3, 2025, that the three-month season would be split into two halves: Emma Frost in the first and Ultron in the second. The publisher framed the story around Emma hosting a Hellfire Gala on Krakoa before Ultron crashes the celebration. These are historical release dates, not a statement that Season 2 content or rewards remain available. NetEase Games’ Season 2: Hellfire Gala announcement
| Season moment | Release timing | Announced content |
|---|---|---|
| Season 2 launch | April 11, 2025 | Emma Frost; Hellfire Gala: Krakoa Domination map |
| Season 2.5 | May 30, 2025 | Ultron; Hellfire Gala: Arakko Convoy map |
The dates and content are confirmed by the official Version 20250411 Patch Notes and Version 20250530 Patch Notes.
What was different about Emma Frost and Ultron’s roles in the season?
Emma Frost opened the season
The Season 2 announcement designated Emma a Vanguard, placing her in that official hero category. The April 11 patch notes confirm her debut and list the X-Revolution and Blue Sapphire costumes. An April 1 balance post also described her Mental Projection Team-Up with Psylocke and Magneto: Emma, as the anchor, gains bonus maximum health; Magneto receives Magnetic Resonance, and Psylocke receives Soul Resurgence. Those are Season 2 patch details, not a guide to current mechanics or balance. Version 20250411 Balance Post

Ultron disrupted the Gala in the second half
Ultron was announced as the second-half hero and released with Season 2.5 on May 30, 2025. The official patch notes also introduced the Hellfire Gala: Arakko Convoy map. The season materials establish this timing and narrative role; they do not support a present-day strength comparison or competitive ranking between the heroes.
Which maps and events came with the two updates?
The launch update added Hellfire Gala: Krakoa for Domination. Season 2.5 added Hellfire Gala: Arakko for Convoy. The May update also featured the Cerebro Database II event, which offered the Hawkeye – Binary Arrow costume, and announced an Emma Frost – Will of Galacta Twitch Drops promotion scheduled for May 30 through June 27, 2025. Those event dates and rewards are historical; the patch notes do not establish that they are currently live.

No. NetEase announced an optional collaboration integrating Razer Sensa HD Haptics and Razer Chroma RGB lighting into the update. It named three supported devices: the Razer Freyja gaming cushion, Razer Kraken V4 Pro headset, and Razer Wolverine V3 Pro controller. The announcement describes accessory support, not a requirement to play. It does not establish current availability, compatibility beyond the announced support, or merchant terms.
