The two accounts offer different levels of detail: the Mottola source supplies a church and date, while the Cannon interview includes Carey’s recollection of the ceremony. Avoid treating that difference as evidence of the weddings’ relative scale or appearance.
What did Carey say about her wedding to Nick Cannon?
In a 2008 interview reproduced by The Mariah Network, Carey recalled: “I can honestly say that my wedding to Nick was the most beautiful day of my life.” That is Carey’s personal description of the day, not an objective comparison of the two ceremonies. The same interview account says the Bahamas wedding was a surprise and that eight close friends attended. How did Carey and Cannon’s marriage end?
In August 2014, Time reported that Cannon confirmed he and Carey had marital difficulties and had been living separately for months. That report describes their separation at the time; it does not establish a precise legal divorce date. Time’s August 21, 2014 report is the cited account.

For a photo-led account, captions should identify the event only when the image’s own caption or a reliable source supports it. Do not infer clothing, décor, guest details or ceremony scenes from an archive thumbnail.
