Maria Shriver said appearing on Shark Tank had been a longtime dream for her son, Patrick Schwarzenegger. The two appeared on the May 3, 2024 episode to pitch MOSH, their protein-bar business.
Why Patrick Schwarzenegger wanted to appear on Shark Tank
In an interview with PEOPLE, syndicated by Yahoo, Shriver said Patrick had watched the show since its early days and had wanted to be on it for years. “I can tell you that it was [on] Patrick’s bucket list,” she said. She also described the appearance as a dream come true for him.
Shriver said the route to the show involved repeated attempts and producer screening before Patrick was accepted to pitch. That account comes from her interview; it does not independently establish the program’s casting process.

The mother and son presented MOSH, their protein-bar business, on the May 3, 2024 installment. ABC’s official listing identifies it as season 15, episode 22, and describes MOSH as a company founded by Shriver and Patrick. Its mission, according to the listing, grew from a personal experience with Alzheimer’s and a shared interest in encouraging proactive attention to brain health.

The sources establish that they pitched the company, not whether an investor made or the entrepreneurs accepted a deal.
How Shriver connected MOSH to Alzheimer’s advocacy
Shriver told PEOPLE that she had wanted to create a protein bar and that Patrick offered to help build the business. She tied MOSH’s purpose to her father’s Alzheimer’s disease and her years of advocacy. She described the product as a way to prompt people to think about brain health and said the company supports gender-based Alzheimer’s research at the Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement at the Cleveland Clinic.

Those are statements about the company’s mission and Shriver’s intentions, not evidence that eating MOSH bars prevents Alzheimer’s or improves cognition. Her explanation of the idea was: “I wanted to start a protein bar that had a mission and a purpose, which was to get people thinking about their brains, thinking about what they put into their mouth, and thinking about how to live a lifestyle that when you get to my age, you’ve done all you can to try to prevent neurological disease.”
