El Universo reproduces the Spanish-language endorsement as: “Esta elección va mucho más allá de los partidos políticos. Recordemos lo que Estados Unidos representa y defiende: UNIDOS. Por eso apoyo a Kamala Harris para presidenta” (“This election goes far beyond political parties. Let us remember what the United States represents and defends: UNITED. That is why I support Kamala Harris for president.”). This is the outlet’s rendering of the ad, not a transcript independently verified here.
Why did Anthony criticize Trump?
The ad uses Puerto Rico’s experience after Hurricane Maria as its central criticism. It recalls Trump’s visit to an island church, where he tossed rolls of paper towels into a crowd, and refers to his comments about Puerto Rico. El Universo’s account says Anthony also refers to Trump calling the island “sucio y pobre” (“dirty and poor”). That wording is reported by El Universo as part of its account of the ad.

The criticism is political advocacy in a campaign commercial. The reporting cited here describes the ad’s message; it does not independently verify every assertion or provide a full historical assessment of the federal response to the hurricane.
What was the ad called, and who was it for?
The linked video title is “Recuerdo | Marc Anthony for Harris-Walz 2024.” El Universo calls the video “Recuerdos” in one passage, so the outlet’s article uses a title variation; “Recuerdo” is the title shown for the linked video. The Associated Press described the commercial as aimed at Latino voters, while El Universo said it was primarily directed at Hispanics in the United States.

Where was the ad supposed to air?
The Associated Press reported that the Harris campaign planned placements during coverage of the 2024 Billboard Latin Music Awards on Telemundo and WAPA America, as well as placements in Pennsylvania on Telemundo and Univision. These were reported plans, not confirmation of final broadcast delivery or audience reach.
