What was the restaurant venture?
In a profile published on 8 September 2024, Clare Rigden reported that Feildel was working on a French bistro upstairs at The Red Lion Hotel, a pub in Rozelle, Sydney. The hotel was being refurbished, and Feildel said friends had suggested he create the bistro. A collaboration with Jamie Gannon
Feildel named Jamie Gannon, Laundy Hotels’ group executive chef and a longstanding friend, as his collaborator. “This is a collaboration,” Feildel said in the interview quoted by Rigden. He also described the learning curve of returning to restaurant operations after a decade away: “I haven’t run a restaurant for 10 years, so I can tell you that when people say it’s just like jumping back on a bike, it is — but the bike has been a bit rusty.”
That distinction matters: the 2024 story was about Feildel re-entering restaurant work with a partner, rather than announcing a return to running a restaurant alone.

How did the restaurant news overlap with MKR?
The same September 2024 profile said the 14th season of My Kitchen Rules was due back the following Monday. It also reported that Feildel was filming an unnamed project for New Zealand audiences, but did not say whether that project later aired.
The television timeline has since moved on. Seven West Media identified Feildel and Colin Fassnidge as co-hosts and judges for the 2025 season, the show’s 15th. The official 7plus program page lists season 16 episodes in 2026, but that listing does not establish the full 2026 judge lineup. What else did the 2024 profile say?
Rigden’s story also noted that Feildel’s wife, Clarissa, had been announced as a presenter on Better Homes and Gardens. Feildel spoke about her comfort sharing food on camera. That was the reported context in 2024; it is not confirmation of the program’s current presenting roster.

Is the Red Lion bistro open now?
The September 2024 profile documents the planned bistro and refurbishment, but it does not establish the venue’s present operating status, booking arrangements, location details, or opening hours. Confirm those directly with The Red Lion before planning a visit; the 2024 announcement alone is not current booking information.
