What happened between Sarah Hyland and Matt Prokop in 2014
Hyland and Prokop dated and worked together. In September 2014, Hyland sought a temporary domestic-violence restraining order. Contemporary reports described allegations in her court filing, including verbal abuse and an alleged incident in which she said Prokop pinned her against a car and choked her. In October 2014, CBS News reported that a judge granted Hyland a three-year restraining order: CBS News. A court order and allegations in a filing are distinct kinds of evidence; neither establishes why Prokop stopped acting.

Why the timeline does not prove the career claim
The reported last credit predates the 2014 restraining-order case. That chronology cannot show that the relationship caused Prokop’s career to stop, that he was blacklisted, or that any particular event explains his absence from later acting credits. The cited coverage offers no explanation from Prokop or a documented account of a career decision. The most accurate answer is that the cause is not established by the available reporting.

In May 2024, TMZ reported Prokop’s arrest in Texas on aggravated-assault and resisting-arrest charges, attributing details to local police. That is reporting about an arrest and charges, not proof of guilt or a final case disposition: TMZ’s report.

In a report published January 11, 2026, E! News said Prokop had been arrested on December 24, 2025, and faced multiple charges, including possession or promotion of child pornography, citing the Victoria County Sheriff’s Office. These are charges, not findings of guilt; the cited report does not establish a final outcome: E! News. These later reports do not supply evidence about why his acting credits stopped.
