The argument left Tori saying that Jack’s failure to defend her upset her most—and sharpened the practical question of whether she would leave Melbourne for a future with him on the Gold Coast.
What happened when Tori met Jack’s friends?
Nine’s Episode 31 recap places the meeting during Homestays Week, when couples visited one another’s homes and had to confront what life together might involve. Nine described the people Tori met as Jack’s clients and close contacts; other coverage used the shorthand “friends.” Lizz was among those present. The account below follows Nine’s episode recap and gallery, which report the scene rather than provide an independently authenticated transcript.
The conversation turned to Tori and Jack not having had sex. Lizz called that a “major red flag.” She and the others also asked whether Tori was comfortable with Jack having many female friends. Tori said she was, adding that she had many male friends herself.
Why did Lizz challenge Tori?
Nine’s gallery reports that Lizz said she was “not a fan” of Tori and did not think she was Jack’s fairytale wife. Lizz also made a disparaging generalization about women with male friends. In Nine’s published account, she said: “When I come across with a girl that has a lot of guy friends it’s usually because they’re sleeping with all the boys.”

Tori pushed back, describing herself as a “boss b–ch” and saying, “I’ve always been one of the boys.” Nine also attributes this response to her: “If it wasn’t working, I would leave you respectfully and resume life on the outside.” The broadcaster’s gallery does not give Lizz a formal occupation or public role beyond describing Jack’s close contacts as clients.
Why was Jack’s reaction the emotional turning point?
Tori’s anger was not only about what Jack’s contacts said. Nine’s gallery quotes her telling the cameras: “The only thing that really upset me was that Jack wasn’t backing me up.” She also said he had shown her “a really sh–ty, ugly part of his life.” Those remarks are reported by Nine as part of its episode account, not as a separately verified transcript.

How did the confrontation affect the move and long-distance question?
The meeting took place against the prospect of Tori leaving her Melbourne life for Jack on the Gold Coast. Nine’s Episode 31 recap says Tori had serious doubts about making that sacrifice, including whether a new life there—and fortnightly catch-ups with Lizz—was worth it. That made the friends’ criticism part of a larger decision about where the relationship could realistically go, not just an unpleasant social encounter.
The couple also disagreed about temporary long-distance arrangements. Tori hoped they could see each other every weekend, alternating who travelled. Jack said meeting every weekend was impractical. The disagreement exposed a mismatch in their expectations for maintaining the relationship across cities while any longer-term move remained unresolved.
