The Fortnite x South Park leak surfaced just before Epic Games officially announced “South Park: Born in Chaos” on January 8, 2026. The collaboration launched the next day and ran through February 5, 2026. Epic confirmed five featured characters, three gameplay items, and a free quest-based pass; the event has ended, and the announcement does not establish whether its cosmetics have returned to the Item Shop.
What was in the Fortnite x South Park collaboration?
Epic’s official announcement named Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny, and Butters as characters to look for in the Item Shop. It also described three gameplay items with different effects:
- Stick of Truth: could control the Storm.
- Cheesy Poofs: could heal the player or damage enemies.
- Kenny’s Respawn Token: could automatically reboot the player.
These were gameplay features, distinct from the character cosmetics. Epic’s announcement confirms the characters and item effects, but does not give cosmetic prices. Epic Games’ January 8, 2026 announcement
What did the leak say, and what did Epic confirm?
The leak preceded the official announcement. In a complaint filed March 5, 2026, Epic alleged that an unauthorized disclosure of confidential information about the unannounced collaboration took place on or about January 6. Epic said the items appeared in-game the day after its January 8 announcement. Those are allegations in a legal complaint, not a court finding. Epic’s complaint, Case 5:26-cv-00135-BO

Before launch, VICE reported potential cosmetic prices based on leaked material and dataminer information. Those figures were described as potential or reportedly leaked prices, not as an official Epic price list. Epic’s announcement confirmed the Shop characters but did not publish their prices, so circulating pre-launch figures should not be treated as verified prices. Was the South Park pass free?
Yes. The Born in Chaos Pass was free, required no V-Bucks, and offered 13 South Park-themed items unlocked by completing quests. Epic listed the Backpack of CRED Back Bling, Terrance and Phillip Pickaxe, and Cheesy Poofs Rocketship Emote as examples. Completing all the quests awarded the Imaginationland Airship Glider. These were limited-time event rewards, not currently available rewards according to the cited announcement. Epic Games’ announcement
