Kylie Jenner wore a Ferragamo gown designed by Maximilian Davis to the 2025 Met Gala. Its defining details were a sheer black, boned corset bodice and a low-waisted herringbone skirt with a high slit. Although the assignment’s original wording calls it “deconstructed,” published descriptions do not establish that as a construction technique for this dress.
What Kylie Jenner wore
Vogue describes the gown as a herringbone halter-neck dress with sporadic black-and-white beading, corseted boning and a low-waisted skirt with a thigh-high slit. British Vogue specifies that the bodice was sheer and black; the Associated Press also described the look as gray-and-black and corseted. The AP framed its tailored appearance as an echo of menswear, rather than documenting a technical deconstruction process.

How the look changed on the carpet
Jenner began the carpet in a dramatic black silk stole fastened with a jeweled rose brooch. It wrapped around her gloved arms and trailed behind her; she later removed it, revealing more of the gown. Reports note black strappy, pointed-toe heels and diamond earrings. Teen Vogue also describes matching sheer gloves, a ring worn underneath and stacked earrings.

Her beauty styling included a sleek, side-parted updo, mauve blush, glossy lips, a soft smoky eye and fanned-out eyelashes, according to Teen Vogue’s look coverage.
How the gown related to the 2025 Met Gala theme
The gala celebrated the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute exhibition “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” and its dress code was “Tailored for You.” The exhibition examined how sartorial style has shaped Black identities, including the history and significance of the Black dandy. Vogue said the dress code nodded to the exhibition’s focus on menswear while inviting guests to interpret it creatively.

The gown’s herringbone pattern, corseted tailoring and menswear-inflected silhouette made tailoring a visible part of Jenner’s look. Whether it fulfilled the theme is an interpretation, not an objective fact about the garment. Vogue quoted guest curator Monica L.
