Yes. A trailer for Mafia: The Old Country appeared online before its planned reveal at The Game Awards on December 12, 2024. 2K and Hangar 13 then officially released a trailer during the event and announced a Summer 2025 window. The game launched worldwide on August 8, 2025, so it is no longer an upcoming release.
Did the Mafia: The Old Country trailer leak?
Contemporary reporting by VGC on December 12, 2024, said the trailer appeared online ahead of The Game Awards presentation. VGC reported that it was likely meant to be added to YouTube’s advertising portal later that evening but became visible early. That explanation was the outlet’s account; 2K did not confirm the cause in its announcement.

The early appearance and the planned reveal are distinct events. On December 12, 2K and Hangar 13 published their own official announcement and trailer at The Game Awards, describing the game as coming in Summer 2025.
When did Mafia: The Old Country come out?
Mafia: The Old Country was released worldwide on August 8, 2025. 2K announced the date on May 8, 2025, alongside a gameplay trailer and developer insights video, then confirmed the worldwide launch on release day.

The original Summer 2025 window was therefore superseded by the specific date. The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, according to 2K’s launch announcement. The May announcement also named NVIDIA GeForce NOW, a cloud gaming service rather than a console or physical game format.
What kind of game is it?
2K describes the game as a third-person action-adventure set in 1900s Sicily. Its story follows Enzo Favara, who survives childhood indentured labor in Sicily’s sulfur mines and gets an opportunity to join Don Torrisi’s crime family.

The publisher characterized the December 2024 reveal as linear and narrative-driven, featuring stealth and gunplay. In May 2025, Hangar 13 President Nick Baynes described it as a focused, linear experience. These are the developer and publisher’s descriptions of the game’s structure and style.
Which editions and prices did 2K announce?
2K announced Standard and Deluxe editions. The figures below are the US prices reported in the publisher’s May 8, 2025 announcement and repeated on its August 8 launch page; they are historical announcement prices, not confirmation of current pricing. 2K cautioned that price and availability may vary by region and retailer.
