Dave chooses Lauren—and proposes
As Marie Claire recounts the episode, Lauren confronts Dave about pursuing overlapping connections and asks him to choose. He prioritizes Lauren and ends things with Molly, whose connection with him had seemed to have engagement potential. Dave then proposes to Lauren, and she accepts.
Marie Claire reports Dave telling Lauren she is “the most lovable, [nurturing] person I’ve ever met” and that she has “so far exceeded everything that I’ve ever dreamt about someone that I am going to marry.” Those lines are dialogue as reported by the outlet, not wording independently verified against an episode transcript.

#1 Best Overall
Madison leaves Mason, and Meg follows her own judgment
ELLE reports that Madison tells Mason she cannot continue dating him because she has found a boyfriend in the pods. Mason revisits his earlier declaration of commitment, saying he felt it was unfair to the people he was dating. Madison challenges the change between his earlier words and that explanation.
Madison then tells Meg that Mason had described himself as committed before walking those words back. Meg wonders whether Mason would have chosen her, or whether she became his remaining option after Madison chose Alex. In their final pod conversation, Mason tries to make the case for their connection, but Meg ends it, saying she needs something different.
Rank #2
ELLE reports Madison observing that Mason “tried to keep two good things going at once, and might have lost both of them.” Meg’s closing line, as reported by the outlet, is “I just need something different.” These are reported excerpts rather than independently checked transcript quotations.

The Dave-Lauren-Molly storyline turns on a direct request for a choice: Dave has to resolve competing connections, and he does so by choosing Lauren. The Mason storylines turn on the credibility of his earlier commitment. Madison leaves after finding a boyfriend in Alex; Meg, after hearing Madison’s account and reconsidering her own position, decides the relationship is not what she wants. The episode shows those decisions in the pods; they do not, by themselves, settle what happens later in the season.
