Her comments do not establish an exact amount or a season-by-season timeline—and they do not show that pregnancy explains every change during the sitcom’s run.
What Leah Remini said about her weight during the series
In a TV Guide interview published April 16, 2007, Remini discussed difficulty losing weight after having her daughter and described changes in her and co-star Kevin James’s weight during the show. She said: “Kevin [James] and I have both had babies on the show. We’ve lost weight. We’ve gained weight.”
That remark confirms that weight changed over the sitcom’s nine-year run, but it does not specify when each change happened or how much weight she gained or lost. It is not a complete chronology.
How pregnancy and being on television factored in
In a CNN interview transcript dated May 14, 2007, Remini discussed pregnancy and the pressure of being visibly heavier on television. She said that it did affect her, but that her focus was her baby’s health: “Hey, my baby’s healthy and that’s what I need to focus on.”

These are Remini’s own reflections on that period, not a medical explanation for every visible change. The interviews do not provide an exact weight, identify a specific season when a change began or ended, or establish that pregnancy accounts for all of it.
Carrie’s weight-related plot was scripted
The series also used weight as a fictional comedy subject. A CBS/Paramount release dated July 7, 2005, describes “Gym Neighbors,” originally broadcast February 9, 2005, as an episode in which Carrie puts on a couple of pounds and starts training with Doug and Lou Ferrigno. That is a plot about Remini’s character, Carrie Heffernan—not evidence about the actor’s real-life body or the timing of her personal weight changes.
