Was there another photo from the same shoot?
Yes. On Christmas morning, the couple shared a second Shinner photograph showing George, Charlotte and Louis together on a bench, with Charlotte seated between her brothers. British Vogue covered the additional image.
How did it differ from King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 2023 card?
The Waleses’ card used the casual family portrait. Charles and Camilla chose a separate, formal photograph taken in Buckingham Palace’s throne room on coronation day. The two images were for different royal-family Christmas cards; they should not be confused as alternate versions of the same card. ITV News reported the distinction.

Why did the portrait prompt discussion?
The understated styling did not read as a conventional holiday card to every viewer. ABC News Australia reported one anonymous reader reaction: “this doesn’t look like a Christmas card.” That is an individual comment, not an expert assessment or a measure of broader public opinion.
