The casting and character details come from entertainment reporting and interview comments; Marvel and Disney’s official series information establishes the show’s broader conflict but does not independently confirm Mr. Charles.
Who is reportedly playing Kingpin’s new enemy?
GamesRadar+ reports that Matthew Lillard has been cast as Mr. Charles, a character positioned against Fisk in Daredevil: Born Again. The report attributes details about the role to Lillard’s interview comments. It is not a Marvel casting announcement: GamesRadar+’s February 28, 2026 report is the source for the specific casting and character name.

What is known about Mr. Charles?
In the comments quoted by GamesRadar+, Lillard describes Mr. Charles as a clandestine operator with influence over power. He also characterizes the relationship as a struggle with Fisk, saying: “He is not impressed by the powers of D’Onofrio’s character at all. He and I get into this really delicious struggle over power. It’s good. It’s fun.” GamesRadar+ attributes the remarks to an interview with the Los Angeles Times.
That is interview-based characterization, not an official synopsis. The reported material does not establish Mr. Charles as a comic-book identity, the MCU’s wider villain, or the show’s only antagonist.

How does the role fit the series?
Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again series page frames the story around Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk. In its March 23, 2026 season-two coverage, Disney says Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio, is New York’s mayor and has outlawed vigilantism, putting him in conflict with Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox.
Mr. Charles is therefore reported as an opponent in a season already shaped by Fisk’s political power and his clash with Daredevil. Disney’s March 25, 2026 cast guide is an official cast resource, but the specific Mr. Charles details cited here come from GamesRadar+’s report, not from the official series descriptions.
