In her acceptance speech, Ripa connected her career and family to Disney, recalling that she met Consuelos while they were working on All My Children. D23’s ceremony recap quoted her saying she owed Disney her career and immediate family, then joked that she and Consuelos made their three children “right backstage in the Disney labs.” The line drew laughter from the audience.

Ripa replied, “I looked away from you when you did,” and explained that she looked toward Angela Bassett because she did not want to become emotional herself.
