Jennifer Lopez opened the 2025 American Music Awards with a dance medley that included kisses with dancers. Later, while presenting an award, Tiffany Haddish joked about Lopez getting her “kisses in” during the performance.
How Jennifer Lopez opened the 2025 AMAs
Lopez was both host and performer at the ceremony on May 26, 2025, at Fontainebleau Las Vegas. The event was scheduled to air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ in the United States. Paramount’s announcement named Lopez as host and performer; Dick Clark Productions’ participant announcement also listed Haddish among the night’s participants.
TV Insider described the medley as beginning with a new arrangement of Lopez’s “Dance Again.” Its account of the performance and footage descriptions published by Entertainment Tonight report that Lopez kissed several backup dancers during the number. Entertainment Tonight’s footage coverage characterizes the opener as a dance medley.
El País reported that the medley included 23 songs and lasted about six minutes, and that Lopez kissed two dancers, a man and a woman. Those song-count and duration figures are the newspaper’s reported estimates, not an official set-list count or timing. El País’s account also describes the two kisses.

What Tiffany Haddish said
Haddish made her joke while introducing an R&B song nominee, according to Hindustan Times. The newspaper’s English rendering of her onstage remark was: “From that opening number alone, Jenny from the Block has got all her steps in for the day, and she got all her kisses in.” Hindustan Times reported the line; it is best treated as that outlet’s rendering rather than a verified verbatim transcript.
El País quoted Haddish in Spanish as saying, “¡Guárdame a un bailarín, J. Lo, joder!” (“Save me a dancer, J.Lo!”), followed by a joke that Lopez was not the only single woman. This is the newspaper’s Spanish text, not an English-language transcript. El País’s report gives that version of the remark.
