What happened in court?
Supreme Court bail decision and trial direction
On May 15, 2026, the Supreme Court rejected Darshan’s bail plea and directed an expedited trial, with day-to-day proceedings initially focused on 60 important witnesses. The New Indian Express reported that the Supreme Court had cancelled an earlier High Court bail order in August 2025; that earlier episode is distinct from the May 2026 decision on bail.
Request for clarification about bail
