Justin Bieber said a friendship was over after an unnamed friend told him they were not used to him “lashing out.” In screenshots he shared, Bieber defended his anger and later described himself as “broken” and as having anger issues. Those are Bieber’s own words, not a clinical assessment; the identity of the friend and the full context of the exchange remain unknown.
What happened in the text exchange?
Entertainment Weekly reported on June 16, 2025, that Bieber shared screenshots of an alleged text conversation the previous day, Sunday, June 15. The report says the friend objected to Bieber lashing out, and Bieber responded, “If you don’t like my anger, you don’t like me.” He also said his anger was a response to past pain.
The unnamed friend replied, “I’m not used to someone lashing out at me. It’s not that I don’t see and feel your anger.” Bieber then wrote, “The friendship is officially over.” Entertainment Weekly also reproduced a later insulting message and Bieber’s statement that he was blocking the friend.
These are excerpts as reported by Entertainment Weekly, not a complete transcript. The outlet reported the screenshots Bieber shared; it did not independently authenticate the conversation or establish what preceded the quoted messages. Entertainment Weekly’s June 16, 2025 report said Bieber’s representatives had not immediately responded to its request for comment.

Who was the friend?
Entertainment Weekly did not identify the friend, and the reported screenshots do not establish the person’s identity. The available account also does not provide the full conversation or confirm whether Bieber later clarified the dispute.
