Luísa Sonza announced on Mais Você on 20 September 2023 that her four-month relationship with Chico Moedas, also known as Chico Veiga, had ended because of betrayal. Her statement referred to a night at a bar but did not identify the venue or give a date. SBT later attributed a report naming a Botafogo bar and 17 September to journalist Leo Dias; a separate, unverified account circulated by a Sonza fan club suggested a different date.
What did Luísa Sonza say on Mais Você?
On 20 September 2023, Sonza announced that her four-month relationship with Chico Moedas had ended and read a statement about betrayal. The statement referred to “naquela noite, naquele bar” (“that night, at that bar”) and a moment “no banheiro sujo de um bar” (“in the dirty bathroom of a bar”). It did not name a bar or specify when the incident took place. gshow’s report of the announcement reproduces her statement.
Among its closing lines, Sonza said: “Meu amor, infelizmente, você mexeu com a mulher errada” (“My love, unfortunately, you messed with the wrong woman”), “Hoje eu me protejo e não vou te proteger” (“Today I protect myself, and I will not protect you”), and “Eu vou viver o amor, só não vai ser com você” (“I will live love; it just won’t be with you”). These are translations of the Portuguese wording reproduced in the report.
When and where was the incident reported to have happened?
The report attributed to Leo Dias
In a 20 September 2023 report, SBT said journalist Leo Dias reported that the incident took place at Galeto Sats, in Botafogo, Rio de Janeiro, on Sunday 17 September. That venue and date are attributed to Dias by SBT; Sonza’s own statement did not confirm either detail. SBT’s report is the source for this account.

A separate account circulated by a fan club
Two days later, SBT described messages attributed to a woman who said she had seen Veiga at a Botafogo bar. According to the report, the messages circulated through a Luísa Sonza fan club after the woman reportedly thought she was messaging Sonza directly and then contacted the club. The account suggested 10 September and about 40 minutes in a bathroom. It is not independently verified in the cited coverage and conflicts with the 17 September date attributed to Leo Dias, so the two accounts should not be combined into a single established timeline. SBT’s 22 September report recounts the claim and how it circulated.
How did Chico Veiga respond?
NaTelinha reported on 22 September 2023 that Veiga posted a statement asking for respect regarding the infidelity accusations and saying he did not want to discuss the matter at that time: “Sobre as acusações de infidelidade, peço respeito, e não é um assunto que eu gostaria de falar sobre nesse momento.” The reported statement is neither a direct denial nor an admission. NaTelinha’s report reproduces the wording.

Why did Sonza later explain her decision to speak?
In an interview with journalist Foquinha, summarized by SBT on 5 October 2023, Sonza said she had spoken publicly to protect herself from attacks and speculation. She said she had not intended to read a statement and that Ana Maria Braga asked her to do so during the interview. In the account reported by SBT, Sonza explained that she had been attacked over a story people did not know and wanted to protect herself and become “a protagonista da minha narrativa” (“the protagonist of my own narrative”).
