What song did Jason and Brittany Aldean sing?
They performed “Drink a Beer,” a song about losing a loved one. Luke Bryan recorded the original for his album Crash My Party. Country Now credits Jim Beavers and Chris Stapleton as the song’s writers; Us Weekly describes Bryan’s recording as a 2013 hit. The Aldeans’ performance was a cover, not the original recording.
A separate tribute at the 2025 Patriot Awards
The Aldeans’ September duet was distinct from a later event. Fox News reported that Jason and Brittany presented the inaugural Charlie Kirk Legacy Award to Erika Kirk at the Fox Nation Patriot Awards on November 6, 2025. Jason later performed “Try That in a Small Town” and spoke about Kirk. Before the performance, Fox News attributed these remarks to him: “Charlie was one of a kind and will forever be missed,” and “Violence and division in our country has become way too common.” Fox News covered the awards event.
