Spoilers for the setup of Jujutsu Kaisen 0. The Night Parade of a Hundred Demons is Suguru Geto’s announced attack on December 24. The official film synopsis says he releases a thousand curses in Shinjuku and Kyoto to pursue a world for jujutsu sorcerers and eliminate non-sorcerers. The event forms the external conflict around Yuta Okkotsu’s effort to break the curse tied to his childhood friend, Rika Orimoto.
What is the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons?
It is the name Geto gives his planned mass curse attack, not simply a supernatural festival. In the official Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film synopsis, Geto announces, “On December 24, we will carry out the Night Parade of a Hundred Demons,” then releases a thousand curses in Shinjuku and Kyoto.

The title says “Hundred Demons,” while the synopsis describes a thousand curses. The official page does not explain the difference, so those are best treated as two separate details: the event’s name and the stated scale of the attack.
When and where does it happen?
Geto sets the attack for December 24. The official synopsis names Shinjuku and Kyoto as the locations where he releases the curses; it does not give a city-by-city count or more precise breakdown.

- When an accident takes the life of Yuta's childhood friend, he's left with her cursed spirit. As she harms the people near him, a depressed Yuta must choose between execution or the Jujutsu sorcerers. Can the curse of love turn into his greatest gift?
The date is part of the story, not the film’s release date. Jujutsu Kaisen 0 opened in Japan on December 24, 2021, according to the Japan Film Database. The film adapts the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.
Why does Geto start the attack?
Geto’s stated goal is ideological: he wants a world exclusively for jujutsu sorcerers and intends to eliminate people who cannot use jujutsu. The film synopsis identifies him as a curse user expelled from the school after killing ordinary people. His attack is presented as an attempt to advance that vision, not as an unexplained outbreak of curses.
How does the Night Parade connect to Yuta and Rika?
Yuta Okkotsu’s story supplies the personal conflict alongside Geto’s public threat. As a child, Yuta watched his friend Rika Orimoto die in a traffic accident. She became a vengeful spirit, and the curse surrounding her brings Yuta to Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School.
There, Satoru Gojo guides Yuta as he meets Maki Zen’in, Toge Inumaki, and Panda. Yuta resolves to break Rika’s curse. The official synopsis places that effort alongside Geto’s announced attack, making the Night Parade the larger crisis surrounding Yuta’s prequel story.

The public synopsis establishes this connection but does not lay out every tactical reason the attack intersects with Yuta and Rika. It also does not provide a full sequence of battles, casualties, or the immediate aftermath; those specifics require the film or manga rather than inference from the synopsis.

The film adapts the prequel manga Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School, rather than adapting the Night Parade as a standalone historical event. The Japan Film Database identifies the source work as a prequel to the television anime and lists the Japanese film’s release date as December 24, 2021, with a runtime of 105 minutes. The official film site credits MAPPA as the animation studio and TOHO as distributor.
