Jimmy Barnes said he was amazed and proud of his youngest daughter, Elly-May, as she prepared to release her debut album, No Good. In an interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly, as reported by PerthNow on 21 March 2024, he praised both the record and the persistence behind it.

Her record is exceptional.” PerthNow also reported his explanation for why her achievement meant so much to him: “The fact Elly-May has had to overcome so many obstacles relating to her disability along this journey makes me even more amazed and proud.”

In Are Media’s album announcement, Jimmy described her approach this way: “Elly-May wanted to do it on her own, her own way, and I think she shines so bright.”
What is known about No Good
PerthNow reported in March 2024 that No Good was Elly-May’s debut album and was scheduled for release on 12 April 2024. The Australian Women’s Weekly later described it as released in 2024. The sources establish the album’s release year, but do not establish current retail availability or formats.

Are Media described the record as containing mostly original material and named Mark Barnes, Neil Finn, Don Walker and Shane Nicholson among its collaborators. That announcement does not provide a complete set of track-by-track credits, so those names should not be read as credits on every song.

The Music reported on 27 October 2023 that Elly-May had signed with ABC Music and that the label had announced a debut album planned for 2024. The Australian Women’s Weekly later recalled that she had joined her father’s tours as a backup singer in her early twenties.

PerthNow reported that Elly-May was born 14 weeks premature and was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at age three. Cerebral Palsy Australia’s profile also recounts those details and describes her early family support and involvement in music. These are biographical accounts, not medical records.
PerthNow’s 2024 story also reported that Elly-May had a 50 per cent chance of survival at birth and was 34 at the time of publication. Those are figures reported in that article, not current-age information or independently verified clinical statistics.
