What is Jim Kerr’s net worth?
The $65 million figure is an estimate published by Celebrity Net Worth. No comparable, independently documented estimate was established in the sources reviewed, so there is no sound basis for averaging online figures or presenting repeated estimates as confirmation.
How did Jim Kerr make his money?
Simple Minds and a long music career
Simple Minds’ official history says Kerr and childhood friend Charlie Burchill formed the group in 1977 after playing together in an earlier Glasgow punk band. The band’s recorded career includes New Gold Dream, Sparkle in the Rain and Once Upon a Time, as well as “Don’t You (Forget About Me)” and “Belfast Child.” That history establishes the scale and longevity of Kerr’s work as a musician; it does not disclose his personal income, contracts, publishing shares, taxes or assets.
Kerr reflected on the band’s beginnings and touring in a 2022 Guardian interview. It offers career and biographical context, not verification of a net-worth amount. Kerr’s own line in the band history—“If Empires And Dance was our first landmark album, then New Gold Dream sealed the deal”—speaks to the group’s artistic trajectory, not his personal finances.
