How did Renner respond in 2019?
Renner denied the drug allegations in his response, the Los Angeles Times reported. A representative for Renner characterized Pacheco’s declaration as one-sided and said the matter was for the court to decide. The representative’s statement, quoted by the Los Angeles Times and Entertainment Tonight, said: “This is a matter for the court to decide. It’s important to note the dramatizations made in Sonni’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind.”

In a 2021 Men’s Health interview, Renner declined to address the claims in detail. As quoted by Us Weekly, he said, “I don’t respond publicly or privately to nonsense,” adding, “It only empowers it.” His remarks did not address the allegations’ specifics.

In a 2025 Guardian interview, Renner reflected on being accused and on the publicity around the dispute. TheWrap reported his comment: “Being accused of things you’ve not done, right? That doesn’t feel good to anybody.” He added, “It certainly doesn’t feel good when you’re a celebrity and it’s known to everybody.”
