Taylor led Voyager’s writers’ room for its first four seasons and wrote more than 30 episodes across the franchise, StarTrek.com reports. Her work helped establish the series’ storytelling and its central character, Captain Kathryn Janeway, played by Kate Mulgrew. Brannon Braga, who succeeded Taylor as showrunner for the final three seasons, remembered her as “a great writer and showrunner and, to me, a cherished mentor.”
What did Taylor write about Janeway?
Taylor also extended her Star Trek work into prose fiction. Her books included Unification, Mosaic and Pathways. The Television Academy describes Mosaic as a backstory for Captain Janeway, offering readers a deeper look at the character beyond the television episodes.
