After her engagement to Devin Strader ended, Jenn Tran joked, “Right now, I hate men, so.” ABC Audio attributed the line to Tran’s interview with People in September 2024, as she discussed healing and her new opportunity on Dancing with the Stars.
What Jenn Tran said
Tran’s remark was a joke in an interview context, not evidence of a settled or lasting view. A September 6, 2024, ABC Audio roundup attributed the quote to her People interview: “Right now, I hate men, so.” ABC Audio’s September 2024 report also placed the comment alongside her discussion of joining season 33 of Dancing with the Stars.

Why she made the joke
The remark came after the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette, when Tran’s engagement to Devin Strader had ended. Contemporary coverage described her as still working through the breakup while looking ahead to the opportunity to compete on Dancing with the Stars. Reality TV World’s September 5, 2024, report recounted the fuller exchange, including Tran’s quip to dance partner Sasha Farber: “Besides you,” followed by, “I hate all men besides you.”
What the quote does—and doesn’t—establish
The exchange was part of a lighthearted conversation about a difficult recent breakup and a new TV opportunity. It should not be read as a literal declaration about all men or as a statement of Tran’s current outlook. These September 2024 reports document that moment; they do not establish Tran’s relationship status or views in 2026.
