Published estimates conflict: The Economic Times attributed ₹212 crore to a GQ report in July 2026, while Mint and Hindustan Times cited estimates close to ₹400 crore in August 2025. None of the cited coverage supplies an audited personal balance sheet or a transparent valuation method, so neither figure should be treated as established fact.
What net worth estimates are reported for Jackie Shroff?
| Reported estimate | Attribution and date | What the reporting establishes |
|---|---|---|
| ₹212 crore | The Economic Times, July 10, 2026, attributing the figure to a GQ report | The Economic Times does not provide GQ’s underlying methodology or a direct financial disclosure. The Economic Times |
| Close to ₹400 crore | Mint, August 23, 2025, summarizing media reports and describing the figure as of August 22, 2025 | The article does not give a transparent asset-and-liability calculation. Mint |
| Close to ₹400 crore | Hindustan Times, August 2025 | The report refers to investments and other ventures but does not document an audited personal balance sheet. Hindustan Times |
The two near-₹400-crore stories should not be read as independent confirmations of a measured value: the cited coverage does not show that they use comparable underlying calculations. A reliable comparison would need to establish whose assets are counted, the ownership shares involved, the valuation date, and any debts or liabilities. Those details are not supplied in the reports above.
Why the reported figures are difficult to verify
Net worth is not the same as a collection of reported career earnings, investment anecdotes, property values, or company valuations. A personal estimate would need to account for assets and liabilities and distinguish Shroff’s individual holdings from jointly owned family property or business interests. The cited articles do not provide that complete accounting.
The Economic Times also reports that the Shroff family’s Mumbai home is valued at around ₹31 crore. That is a media-reported residence valuation, not a current appraisal or proof that Jackie Shroff owns the property outright. It cannot be added to a personal net-worth estimate without knowing ownership shares and how the estimate treats the residence. The Economic Times

What the reported financial history does—and does not—show
The setback around Boom
Coverage of the 2003 film Boom describes a serious financial setback for Jackie and Ayesha Shroff. The Economic Times identifies Jackie Shroff Entertainment Limited as their production company and lists Boom among its projects. Later reporting recounts that the family sold assets and household furniture after the film’s poor commercial performance. This history helps explain why a single present-day estimate cannot be inferred from a successful career alone; it does not establish the size of Shroff’s current assets or debts. The Economic Times The Indian Express
Jackie Shroff described the episode in an interview with Bollywood Bubble, quoted by The Economic Times: “I knew that we tried something and we lost something. If I had to pay for it, I’d pay. I had worked as much as I could, and we repaid everybody so that my family’s name gets clear. Ups and downs are common in a business. It is not necessary that it’s always going to stay up. Sometimes it’s up and sometimes it’s down, but you need to know how to keep your sanity and ethics,” The Economic Times

The Sony Entertainment Television investment account
The Economic Times reported Ayesha Shroff’s interview recollection that an investment of ₹1 lakh in Sony Entertainment Television India’s launch returned ₹100 crore. Mint separately reported her account that seven friends pursued the deal and that the partners exited after 15 years in 2005. These are attributed accounts of a historical investment, not an independently audited calculation of money Jackie personally received or still holds. The Economic Times Mint
Mint also cited a CRISIL Ratings figure putting Sony TV India’s net worth at around ₹770 crore at the financial year ended March 31, 2025. That figure refers to the company, not Jackie Shroff, and is separate from the reported historical investment return. It should not be used as a proxy for his personal wealth. Mint

How to read celebrity net-worth claims
- Check the date and attribution. The ₹212-crore claim was attributed to GQ by The Economic Times in 2026; the near-₹400-crore claims were reported in 2025.
- Look for a disclosed method. The cited reports do not show audited personal accounts or a transparent calculation of assets minus liabilities.
- Separate people, families, and companies. A family home, a joint investment, and a company’s net worth are not automatically Jackie Shroff’s individual assets.
- Do not treat repeated estimates as verification. Multiple outlets repeating a figure do not establish that it was independently calculated or checked.
Jackie Shroff has also framed acting as a choice rather than a guaranteed path to wealth. In an interview published by The Indian Express, he said: “Who asked you to be an actor? Mujhe kisi ne zabardasti toh nahi bola actor banne! So, be thankful.” The Indian Express
