That claim has not been confirmed by an official platform ranking: the post does not identify a territory, measurement period, or metric. HBO’s official materials confirm the series and its release schedule, but not the ranking.
What is confirmed about DTF St. Louis?
Warner Bros. Discovery announced DTF St. Louis as an HBO Original limited series created by Steven Conrad, starring Jason Bateman, David Harbour, and Linda Cardellini, among others. HBO described its premise as a love triangle among three adults experiencing middle-age malaise, leading to one of them ending up dead. HBO’s January 28, 2026 announcement said it premiered March 1 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and was available to stream on HBO Max.
The announcement set out a seven-episode weekly run, with the finale scheduled for April 12, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. HBO’s series listing identifies it as a 2026 crime, investigations, drama, and mystery title. Its displayed episode excerpt is partial, so it should not be used to override the full schedule in the announcement.
What is the evidence for the No. 1 claim?
A Reddit post dated March 19, 2026, titled “DTF:SL is top show on HBO Max & #3 streamed show worldwide,” relayed a claim attributed to Tina Rowden, a professional photographer associated with the show’s promotional photos. According to that post, Rowden said DTF St. Louis was then No. 1 on HBO Max, ahead of The Pitt. The post is secondary reporting of a social claim, not a platform-issued chart.

The post does not establish what “top” means, which country or territory it refers to, the time window, or whether the ranking measures viewing or another kind of popularity. HBO’s title page confirms the listing, not its position against other shows. The separate claim that it was the world’s No. 3 streamed show is likewise not supported by an identified dataset or methodology and cannot be treated as a verified statistic.
How to read the comparison with The Pitt
The available evidence supports saying that a March 2026 social post reported DTF St. Louis had moved past The Pitt to No. 1 on HBO Max. It does not support presenting that as a confirmed or current HBO Max ranking. A meaningful comparison would need a defined territory, date or measurement window, metric—such as hours watched or views—and a source explaining how the ranking was compiled. No comparable verified ranking data for the two series is established in the available sources.
