According to The Independent, Rowling reposted a video by comedian IntelLady on 26 September 2025. The parody spoofed Watson’s recent appearance on Jay Shetty’s podcast. Rowling’s caption was: “I’m here for all the spoofs.”

The joke was the comedian’s, not a video Rowling made herself. A.V. Club characterized the parody’s premise as suggesting Watson wanted to reconnect with Rowling to get work. That is the clip’s satirical framing as described by the outlet, not established evidence about Watson’s intentions.
What did Emma Watson say about J.K. Rowling?
In the podcast interview, Watson reflected on her relationship with Rowling. She said she still treasured the person she had known, while acknowledging their disagreement, and expressed a wish that they could have had a conversation. The Guardian reported her saying, “I think the thing I’m most upset about is that a conversation was never made possible.”

Watson also spoke about affection across disagreement: “I think it’s my deepest wish that I hope people who don’t agree with my opinion will love me and I hope I can keep loving people who I don’t necessarily share the same opinion with.” The Guardian’s account of the interview was published on 25 September 2025 and updated the following day: read its report.
How did Rowling respond after sharing the parody?
The repost and its brief caption came before a separate, longer public response. On 29 September 2025, Rowling criticized Watson in a post about the interview. The Guardian quoted Rowling describing Watson as “ignorant of how ignorant she is.” The Guardian and TheWrap reported on that later response; it should not be conflated with the earlier parody repost.
