Director Shawn Levy later said the Swift cameo rumor “was never true.” The trailer showed the masked character, but did not confirm who played her; after the film’s release, Blake Lively was reported as Lady Deadpool.
What the final trailer showed
Lady Deadpool appeared in the final trailer, prompting speculation about her identity. Her appearance was not evidence that Swift had been cast: the trailer did not unmask the character or identify Swift as the performer. ComicBook.com covered the trailer reveal and the ensuing question of who played the role: ComicBook.com’s report on Lady Deadpool.

What Shawn Levy said about the Swift rumor
In an August 6, 2024 interview with Variety, director Shawn Levy rejected the rumor directly: “That was one of the loudest rumors that came out of nowhere. It was never true.” He added that the speculation created a “smokescreen of rumors and half-truths.” Read Levy’s interview with Variety.
Who was reported as Lady Deadpool?
After the film’s release, ComicBook.com identified Blake Lively as Lady Deadpool. The report noted that the character’s face remained masked in the film, so viewers did not see an unmasked reveal of Lively as Lady Deadpool. That post-release identification is separate from what the final trailer itself established.

Ryan Reynolds also said Swift was not in the film
