Kelsey Anderson’s reported “traumatized” reaction was an initial response to fans’ videos of her father, Mark Anderson, and suggestions that he join The Golden Bachelor—not a claim of clinical trauma or a casting announcement. In a later interview published October 23, 2024, she said she would fully support him if he wanted the lead role.
Why the suggestion initially unsettled Kelsey
A transcript of the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous Podcast describes Kelsey’s first reaction to fans imagining her father on The Golden Bachelor as “traumatized.” The account ties that response to seeing “thirst trap videos” of Mark. The word is used as a description of her reaction in that conversation; it does not establish clinical trauma.

The same transcript says Kelsey later stepped back from her initial discomfort. She reasoned that her father deserved love and praise, and said her mother had wanted him to find love and be happy if she died before him. This account comes through the podcast transcript, not a direct post from Kelsey.
Kelsey later said she would support Mark
In an interview reported by Us Weekly on October 23, 2024, Kelsey said, “If that’s what he wants to do, I would fully support him.” The report also said she would be excited for him. Her later comment makes the distinction clear: an uncomfortable first reaction did not mean she opposed the idea.

Mark’s franchise appearance—and what was only rumored
Mark appeared on the first season of The Golden Bachelorette, where he competed for Joan Vassos. According to Us Weekly, Vassos sent him home before the hometown episode.
After that appearance, Extra described Mark as rumored to be a possible next Golden Bachelor in an October 23, 2024 report. That was speculation, not confirmation that he had been selected. The reporting cited here does not establish a later casting outcome.

Later context about Mark’s personal life
In later coverage, E! reported on Mark’s relationship with actor Barbara Alyn Woods. The outlet also quoted Kelsey saying her father had not really been in a relationship since her mother, apart from his time on The Golden Bachelorette. E! reported that Denise Anderson died in 2018 after breast cancer. This later context is separate from Kelsey’s initial reaction to the casting suggestion.
