The January 2025 story was a report that Justin Bieber was planning a music comeback—not an official release announcement. The return was confirmed on July 11, when Universal Music Canada announced that his seventh full-length album, SWAG, was out via Def Jam Recordings. He followed it with the announcement of SWAG II in September. Later, Apple Music listed two 2026 live albums tied to Coachella; those listings do not establish a full-scale tour.
What did the January 2025 report say?
In January 2025, NME reported that Bieber was reportedly planning a major music comeback that year. The report was about a possible plan, not a confirmation from Bieber or his label. NME’s available search extract referred to earlier studio work with Mk.gee as an indication of new material, but the article page was inaccessible; the details of that report should therefore be treated narrowly. When did Bieber’s music return become official?
Universal Music Canada announced on July 11, 2025, that SWAG, Bieber’s seventh full-length album, was out via Def Jam Recordings. The label’s announcement lists 21 tracks and collaborators including Carter Lang, Dylan Wiggins, Daniel Caesar, Dijon, mk.gee, Daniel Chetrit, Eddie Benjamin and Knox Fortune. Universal Music Canada
The Associated Press independently reported the release and described SWAG as Bieber’s first album since 2021’s Justice—an interval of four years between the albums’ release years. AP also quoted Def Jam’s description of the music as reflecting a “deeper perspective” and “more reflective sound”; that is the label’s characterization, not an independently measured assessment. What do the 2026 live releases show?
Apple Music’s catalog lists SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA (Weekend I) and SWAG LIVE FROM COACHELLA (Weekend II) as 2026 live albums. These catalog entries document later performance-related music activity, but they do not by themselves confirm a full-scale tour, dates beyond those performances, or a tour schedule. Because Apple Music’s catalog can change, the listings reflect the catalog as available at the cited page. Apple Music
