Justin Bieber joined SZA onstage for “Snooze” on May 23, 2025, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The surprise appearance came during the Los Angeles stop of SZA and Kendrick Lamar’s Grand National Tour and marked the first time the two artists performed the song live together, according to Billboard.
What happened at SoFi Stadium?
Bieber appeared as a guest during SZA’s set at the May 23 show, joining her for “Snooze.” Billboard identified it as the second Los Angeles stop of the Grand National Tour and described the collaboration as a surprise that stunned the crowd. SPIN also reported the appearance at that SoFi Stadium concert and characterized it as a rare return to the stage for Bieber.
SoFi Stadium is in Inglewood, California, in the Los Angeles area. The performance was part of the 2025 Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar—not an appearance on SZA’s earlier solo SOS tour.
Why was the performance a milestone?
“Snooze” first appeared on SZA’s 2022 album SOS. In September 2023, an acoustic version featuring Bieber was released. Their SoFi Stadium duet brought the recording collaborators together onstage for the song for the first time, Billboard reported.

Bieber had performed a solo rendition of “Snooze” in Toronto in February 2024. That earlier performance was not a live duet with SZA; the May 2025 show was their first reported performance of the song together.
How the live duet fits the song’s timeline
- 2022: SZA releases “Snooze” on SOS.
- September 2023: The acoustic version featuring Bieber is released.
- February 2024: Bieber performs the song solo in Toronto.
- May 23, 2025: Bieber joins SZA for their first reported live performance of “Snooze” together at SoFi Stadium.
The distinction between the original recording, the acoustic collaboration and the later stage duet explains why the Los Angeles appearance drew attention: the artists had recorded together, but had not previously performed the song live together, according to Billboard.
