Some viewers criticized how Javen and Demola came across in the Katisha-related conversation in Love Is Blind: UK After the Altar, but the available reactions are mixed—not evidence that fans broadly agree. The three-episode Netflix special, featuring cast members from the first two UK seasons, launched on July 12, 2026. Its conversation revisits the earlier connection between Katisha and Demola, and her decision to choose Javen in the pods.
Why Katisha, Javen and Demola’s history came back into focus
The backdrop is the Season 2 love triangle revisited after the season: Katisha had a connection with Demola in the pods, but chose Javen. In its Season 2 reunion recap, Netflix said Katisha did not regret that choice and reported that Demola respected her decision to end their connection. Read Netflix Tudum’s reunion recap.
The later special brings the participants back into the story. Netflix announced After the Altar as a three-episode special filmed two weeks after the Season 2 reunion. Netflix’s announcement and release details.
What Demola said about the relationship
Netflix’s post-reunion account attributes a specific perspective to Demola: he said he did not celebrate Javen and Katisha’s breakup, wished them well, and felt his connection with Katisha was real. Speaking about the breakup, he told Netflix Tudum, “It was a shame. I really just wished them the best and I was actually rooting for them. I would’ve been their cheerleader. I love love, so I was hoping that it worked out.” Read Netflix’s follow-up with Demola’s account.
