Kate Winslet was announced in July 2024 as planning an Australia tour that October to promote Lee, the biographical film in which she plays photographer and World War II correspondent Lee Miller. Producer Kate Solomon and Miller’s son, Antony Penrose, were also named as accompanying her. The announcement is historical: it does not make the tour an upcoming event, and the available reporting does not give a city-by-city itinerary.
What was announced about Winslet’s Australia visit?
PerthNow reported on 17 July 2024 that Winslet planned to tour Australia in October 2024 to promote Lee. Producer Kate Solomon and Antony Penrose, Miller’s son, were named as part of the visit. A November 2024 publisher catalogue also described the visit as planned for October.
Those sources establish the announced plan, not a detailed schedule or confirmation of every appearance. They do not identify the cities, venues, ticketing arrangements or audience events, so a specific itinerary cannot be supplied from the available reporting.
What is Lee about?
Directed by Ellen Kuras, Lee stars Winslet as Lee Miller, an American photographer who became a correspondent during World War II. ABC reports that Miller documented the London Blitz, followed Allied forces in France and photographed victims at Dachau and Buchenwald.
