Windows requirements and performance targets
Steam lists the following PC specifications. The official support article, updated November 28, 2025, associates its minimum and recommended configurations with different display settings and a 1080p/60 FPS target. These are published targets, not independent benchmark results.

Check the Steam listing for the stated PC specifications and the official system requirements for the settings and performance caveats. The support page warns that frame rates may drop during heavy processing, device-specific issues can occur even when a device meets requirements, and requirements may change without notice. Meeting the minimum therefore does not guarantee stable performance in every situation.
What kind of game is it?
Despite the franchise’s action-heavy premise, the Steam listing describes a turn-based RPG, not real-time action combat. You choose skills for Defense Force officers, work to expose a Kaiju’s core, then use ultimate attacks to finish the fight. The store page also describes a retelling of the anime story, original narratives, and additional character stories. Steam gives the Windows release date as September 30, 2025.

The official website calls it a “Kaiju-Slaying Battle RPG” and lists iOS, Android, and Steam. It credits Akatsuki Games Inc. for planning, production, development, and operation, alongside TOHO CO., LTD. and Production I.G. for planning and production.
Is it free, and what do purchases mean?
The game is free to play on Steam, and the official website says it includes in-game purchases. Steam also discloses chance-based in-game purchases and online interactivity. “Free to play” means you can access the game without buying it upfront; it does not mean every in-game item or feature is free. The cited pages do not establish current prices for particular purchases, item odds, or spending limits.

How it connects to the manga and anime
Steam describes the game as based on the anime adaptation of the Shonen Jump+ manga. If you want to explore the franchise’s source material separately, “Kaiju No. 8 manga volume 1” is a relevant book-search phrase; a specific edition or current retailer listing is not established here. Buying a manga volume is not required to play the Windows game.
