No current source in the reporting reviewed confirms that Josh Lucas and Jessica Ciencin Henriquez still live together. A PEOPLE report in August 2015, citing an unnamed source, said the former couple had moved back in together in New York City with their son. Later accounts describe other co-parenting arrangements, including nesting, and a 2020 report said they lived separately in California.
What the 2015 report said
On August 18, 2015, PEOPLE reported that Lucas and Henriquez were living together in New York City with their son. The claim came from an unnamed source close to the former couple, rather than a direct statement by either Lucas or Henriquez. The source said the arrangement accommodated Henriquez beginning graduate school at Columbia and Lucas’s demanding work schedule. Read the 2015 PEOPLE report republished by Yahoo.
The report described a practical living arrangement after divorce; it did not establish that the couple had reconciled romantically.
How their co-parenting arrangements changed
Separate homes, a shared home, and nesting
In a first-person TIME essay published in March 2018, Henriquez described trying several ways to manage family life after the divorce: living separately, living together, and “nesting.” She explained nesting as an arrangement in which the child stays in one home while the parents rotate in and out. Henriquez also wrote candidly about the difficulty of co-parenting. Read her TIME essay.

What nesting meant in their case
A March 2018 PEOPLE report said their son stayed in a New York City home while Lucas and Henriquez rotated in and out. That is different from both parents living there together full time. Lucas framed the arrangement as a way to avoid making their son move between two homes, saying, “It’s your fault and therefore it should not be the child’s problem to go back and forth between two different homes.” Read the 2018 PEOPLE report republished by Yahoo.
What later reporting said
In a 2020 PEOPLE report republished by Yahoo, a source close to Lucas said he and Henriquez were co-parents, lived separately in California, and were not trying to reconcile. That, too, was an attributed account rather than a direct statement from the former couple. It is later than the 2015 report, but it does not verify their circumstances today. Earlier, in a 2014 ABC News interview, Lucas described the divorce as amicable and said they were working together for their son. That account provides context for their co-parenting, but does not establish where they lived in later years. Read the ABC News report.
