Jerry O’Connell said his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and their daughters reacted with rage and “became physical” with him after he criticized the Harris campaign’s planning following the 2024 election. That is O’Connell’s account, as reported from his appearance on Bill Maher’s Club Random podcast; the available coverage does not independently verify what happened at home or specify what “became physical” meant.
What O’Connell said about the argument
According to The Independent’s March 17, 2026 report, O’Connell recounted an argument at home after Donald Trump defeated Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. He said he had not expected Trump to win and criticized the Harris campaign’s planning, including arguing that there should have been a primary.
The Independent quoted O’Connell describing his explanation for Harris’s loss this way: “there was no planning. This is what they get. There should have been a primary.” He said his wife and daughters then became physical with him and were filled with rage.
What “became physical” does—and does not—establish
A News24 video description published March 16, 2026 also attributes the account to O’Connell, reproducing his words: “My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical with me. They were filled with rage.” News24’s description is a secondary account, not the original podcast recording.
