Santi and Emily try to make peace
The episode begins with Santi and Emily addressing their earlier argument. Emily apologizes for humor that can cross a line, while Santi apologizes for lashing out when she is upset. Their exchange puts communication in focus as the couples approach the wedding decisions ahead.
Former pod connections return
The engaged couples split into separate bachelor and bachelorette celebrations. Former participants from the pods are invited, bringing past connections and unfinished feelings into gatherings that are supposed to celebrate the couples’ next step. The recap describes jealousy and insecurity emerging as the former pod members re-enter the social mix.

Why the celebrations create tension
The wedding deadline has not resolved the couples’ underlying difficulties. Santi and Emily’s apologies show an attempt to acknowledge how they have hurt each other; the parties introduce a different pressure, as partners encounter people tied to earlier romantic connections. Those dynamics leave room for insecurity and unresolved feelings to affect the present relationships.
The recap does not establish a full scene-by-scene account or provide verified dialogue, so it would be misleading to attribute specific reactions or quotes to the cast. What it does make clear is the episode’s central contrast: engagement moves the couples toward marriage, but it does not automatically settle how they communicate or handle old emotional ties.

Where Episode 9 sits in the season
Netflix’s Tudum release schedule places Episodes 9 and 10 on November 20, 2024, with the reunion scheduled for November 27. The show’s premise begins with singles dating without seeing one another and meeting face-to-face after an engagement, making the return of former pod connections especially pointed at this late stage.
Netflix’s official series page lists Season 1 Episodes 1–11. The official release and cast guide gives the schedule and premise, while Netflix’s official title page identifies the series. The subtitle “A Long Way To Go” is attached to The Things recap as surfaced through IMDb News, not to the official Netflix episode listing.
