Tyla withdrew from Listen Out 2024 on September 25, just two days before the festival’s Melbourne opening. Her management said she could not perform over the following weeks but gave no specific reason. Organizers said they were working on a replacement; the contemporaneous reports reviewed here do not identify an act as Tyla’s replacement.
What happened?
Tyla’s management announced that she would no longer perform at Listen Out. PerthNow reported the statement: “It saddens us to let you know that Tyla will no longer be able to perform over the next few weeks, affecting her performances at Listen Out festival.” It added that Tyla was “working hard to connect with as many of her fans globally as possible” and appreciated the support of her Australian fans. The statement did not name a specific cause for her withdrawal. PerthNow
Although Tyla had cancelled world-tour dates earlier in 2024 after a reported back injury, The Music’s account of that earlier cancellation does not connect the injury to her Listen Out withdrawal. The September statement is not a medical explanation, so the reason for this decision remains unspecified in the cited coverage. The Music

Who replaced Tyla?
Organizers said they were working to secure a replacement, but the contemporaneous reports cited here do not name an act specifically as Tyla’s replacement.
