Kelly Ripa’s reported “collapse” was a comedic bit, not a reported medical emergency. During the June 16, 2025 episode of Live with Kelly and Mark, she slid from her chair and lay on the studio floor during a conversation about Google Gemini, then joked that the AI had “killed one of the hosts.”
What happened on the show?
Entertainment-news reports say technology guest Lance Ulanoff asked Google Gemini what to do when nervous while speaking with the hosts. After Gemini offered conversational advice, Ripa played up the awkwardness of the exchange by sliding down from her chair and lying on the floor.
Ulanoff then asked Gemini what to do about someone lying at his feet. The AI reportedly advised checking whether the person was okay and calling for help if they were unresponsive. Ripa got back up. OK Magazine’s June 16, 2025 report and Entertainment Weekly’s report, republished by AOL describe the segment.
Was Kelly Ripa actually having a medical emergency?
The reports describe a comic fall during the segment; they do not report that Ripa fainted or experienced a medical crisis. One headline used “collapses,” but the available coverage does not establish a medical collapse. The accounts are secondary entertainment-news reports, not a medical statement or firsthand health account. Entertainment Weekly’s report is among the published accounts.
