Logan Paul said he is not banned from Japan “in an official way” after fans chanted that he was during WWE Raw in Belfast on January 19, 2026. The chant revived backlash over his 2017 Aokigahara video, but it is not evidence of a formal Japanese entry ban. The reports available do not establish whether Japan has issued an individual decision about Paul or whether he would be admitted today.
What did Logan Paul say about being banned from Japan?
After the Belfast crowd chanted that he was banned from Japan, Paul responded backstage, according to Fightful: “I’m not even banned from Japan like officially. I’m not banned from Japan in an official way.”
NoDQ also reported that Paul addressed the chant in a YouTube vlog and reproduced a longer version of his response. These are reports of Paul’s comments, not an official Japanese government statement about his immigration status.
Why were fans chanting that he was banned?
The chant refers to the backlash over a 2017 video Paul filmed in Japan’s Aokigahara forest and uploaded to YouTube. The video included footage of a deceased person and was widely criticized as insensitive, as NoDQ’s account notes. That controversy explains the chant; it does not show that Japan formally barred Paul from entering.

What had Paul said about returning to Japan before?
In an August 2024 episode of his Impaulsive podcast, Paul said, “Yes, I can go to Japan,” and denied being “excommunicado,” according to Fightful. He said he wanted to be invited back and identified WWE as the invitation he would most like to receive. Fightful also reported that he missed WWE’s 2024 Japan tour because of prior obligations.
Those remarks describe what Paul said and his explanation for missing that tour. They do not independently verify his eligibility to enter Japan.

Has Japan officially confirmed an entry ban?
The reports of the chant and Paul’s response do not confirm an official ban, and they do not establish his present individual admissibility. Japan’s Immigration Services Agency publishes general examples of special landing permission decisions involving people who fall under grounds for denial of landing, but its cited notice concerns 2024 cases and does not mention Paul: Immigration Services Agency notice. The U.S. State Department’s Japan travel information provides general entry guidance, not a ruling on Paul’s case.
So the careful distinction is: Paul has publicly denied being officially banned; fans and entertainment-news coverage have used the word “banned”; the available sources do not establish an official Japanese decision about him. Only an authoritative individual ruling could resolve his status.
